    Post ferry to Kephalonia

Hello, I just discovered this site.

We are visiting Zakynthos for the first time on Friday 15th July.
I want to know if there will be a ferry to Kephalonia on that evening. As I heard that the ferry may be not a very big one: is it necessary to book tickets in advance, or can we buy the tickets half an hour before, in the harbour, on the evening itself?

And a second question: I have been looking (on internet) for transport by bus, from Zakynthos airport to the harbour of Schinari / Agios Nikolaos. But I didn't find.
    What can you advise us?

If there is no bus: is the taxi very expensive (from airport to harbour Schinari?)

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, there are hundreds of places that organise trips to Kephalonia, not expensive at all, i didnt get a chance to go over last year so looking forward to it in August!

Thanks, but maybe I didn't explain my question very well.
I have the purpose to go to Kephalonia for one week. As our flight to Zakynthos is in the late morning, we only see the possibility to go to Kephalonia with the evening ferry. At least, if there is an evening ferry.

Is it just an idea, or reality, that most of the tourists are staying on Zakynthos?

For a good understanding: after our week on Kephalonia, we will stay the next week on Zakynthos. Our stays are already booked.

But I don't see very well (yet) the transfer possibilities between the two islands.

I found this but not sure if it will help you, if not try looking on the alykes section of this board you may get a better reply to your query. I think it looks like you will have to spend 1 night when you arrive in Zakynthos and then get the morning ferry to Kefalonia. dot

Can I go to Kefalonia for the day?
You can go on an organised excursion which includes a coach trip of the island. That trip you can book in every Travel Agent in Alykes & Alykanas or Zakynthos Town.

If you're more adventurous you can do it yourself by getting a bus from Zante town. The bus timetable coincides with the ferry timetable. The ferry leaves Skinari at 9:45 and returns around 19:15. It takes about 75 minutes, so you'll have plenty of time to spend on Kefalonia.
