argassi red lion

hi iv just returned from a week in argassi.it was mine and the wifes first visit there and we loved it .although we were a bit aprehensive about the cost of eating and drinking ,having spoken to a friend who had recently returned from corfu,we found it quite reasonable.the best piece of advice i can offer you is to make your way to the red lion pub ,order up a cold zorba lager in a frosty pint glass ,2eu..not bad eh ?and a decent pint, chill out and get to know ken and jude who run the place.theyr a nice couple and if like us its your first visit to argassi can give you some good pointers .ken serves a mean measure of metaxa (my poor swede the next day) not to mention the free shots of sambuca. they also do a 3 course sunday lunch for 8 euros which looked great if you like eating that kind of thing when the temp is about 37 degrees outside.i prefer to order another beer and leave the food till the evening.

hi knocker,ken and jude have been running bars in argassi for many years now,oasis bar,toucan bar and the red lion.they are very well thought of by many holidaymakers and they return many times to see them and have a drink or ten with two of the best hosts in zante.I discovered the new draught lager zorbas in the red lion in may,and its a good pint and a bargain at two euros.by the way there is a ken and jude apreciation society on face book.

thanks for the reply big pete,im not that clued up to use face book yet.im well new to this e mail malarkey ha ha but im not surprised theyv got a fan club. ken even offered to run us home after a particularly heavy sesh.what a guy! hed probably even take your shoes off and tuck you in.

It a shame but the red lion is not opening this year,the hopes are that ken and jude will be running another bar but as of yet nothing concrete is in place.As soon as i know anything else i will of course post.

ken and jude are working at remezzos this year,remezzos is a beach bar down a small lane opposite three brothers restaraunt.they are working there in the evenings.
