Alykanas October

Hi I have friends enquiring about what it would be like in alykanas oct 14th ish? Any info weather ect it will be there forst time visiting Thanx

Its the luck of the draw in mid October as its changeable -

we went a few years ago around the 16th and it had been cloudy and raining for days before we went but we had five days of lovely sunny weather (34c in the shade) and then as we were leaving the rain clouds came back in.

I was there around 17th last year and it was a mixed bag - some heavy rain but also quite a bit of sun. It was fairly warm too. I love Alykanas in October, so much so that I've managed to sneak in another 6-day trip (thanks to Easyjet) - 15th - 21st October

We've spent forty-two October days in Zakynthos (not all in the same year....that would be mathematically impossible) and I'd say that probably thirty-four/five have been glorious.

Some spectacular storms though....and on one occasion (in 2007) a lightening strike took out a power cable outside Busters....full on fire and no electricity anywhere for many hours.

Our last night in 2004 was spent in total darkness also.

But it is a beautiful time to go. Not so busy, locals have more time to talk and plenty of special offers on in the restaurants. Cheap car-hire also.

We're out for a week from 22nd October and have no idea what to expect weather wise, hope to get local update a bit nearer to the time so I know what to pack.
Not bothered though cos I'll be in Alykanas
